For those of you, who do not want to just relax all day by the swimming pool or at the beach, Moraira and environs offer many diversions. Whether privately, by bus or train, an excursion to the sights and attractions on the Costa Blanca is always worthwhile.

Here are some suggestions for the most important and interesting destinations:
  • Day outing by bus from Benissa to Valencia or Alicante
Musts in Valencia are the Northern Railway Station (Estación del Norte), the townhall (Ayuntamiento), the Cathedral and the market hall and the former silk trading exchange (Lonja). Further we recommend a side trip to the famous Museum of Science (Ciudad de las Ciencias). In Alicante we recommend as highlights: A visit to the Santa Barbara Castle (Castillo), the townhall (Ayuntamiento), the new harbour with its modern shopping galleries.
  • If you prefer it more tranquil, we recommend a trip inland. The old moorish fortified village of Guadalest , towering above a green reservoir, invites you. Close by are the RIO ALGAR Waterfalls and their famous herb garden. And if you want to reach even higher, you will find the well tended AITANA SAFARI PARK at an altitude of approx. 1.000 m.
  • A halfday excursion to Benidorm, the vacation metropolis, should not be missed. Closeby you will find the TERRA MITICA Amusement Park. Other attractions nearby are a `parrot park`, a watersports-paradise and the brand-new Animal Nature Park Terra Natura.
  • An adventure of a different kind is a ride on the narrow gage railway to either Altea or Denia, two lively and interesting small towns.
  • For our sportive and athletic guests we recommend a mountain climbing excursion to the top of the Peñon de Ifach in Calpe (335 m high). And after the exertion, don't miss out on a delicious fresh fish lunch or dinner in one of the many restaurants in Calpe Harbour.
