Spain is the land of fiestas. Hardly a week-end goes by without celebrating something somewhere. The best known festivities are listed every week in the local English language papers. Below is a list of the Fiestas in the Moraira/Teulada/Benissa municipalities:
January Fiesta de Reyes 6th January (Enero)
Procession of the Three Kings in Moraira at 17.00
March Fallas 19th March (Marzo)
Celebrating the end of winter. Huge paper maché figures are burnt in the streets and people celebrate with processions, music bands, fireworks etc.
March - April Pascua
Easter Processions in every town

Fiesta Patronales S. Vicente Ferrer Monday after Easter
Special celebration in Teulada with procession, music bands, giant paella feast, driving cows through town and fireworks.
May Fiesta de Benissa 1st week-end in May (Mayo)
A whole week of celebrations with a variety of entertainment, musical bands, driving of cows etc.
June Moros y Cristianos 2nd week of June (Junio)
Christians conquer the fortress in Moraira from the Moores a very old tradition, also reenacted in many other towns throughout the year.
July Fiesta Virgin del Carmen 3rd week in July (Julio)
Celebrations in honour of the patron saint of fishermen

Fiesta de Sant Jaume (Benimarco) last week in July (Julio)
A whole week of celebrations with music bands, driving of cows etc.
August Fiesta del Andrago (Playa del Andrago) last week of August (Agosto)
Open air entertainment and large feast
September Fiesta del Moscatel 1st Saturday in Sept. (Septiembre)
